ELON, N.C. – For the second straight year, James Madison is the outright Colonial Athletic Association champion.

The top-ranked Dukes used three rushing touchdowns from senior quarterback Bryan Schor and got a blocked punt from freshman safety D’Angelo Amos, who returned it for a score, while the defense only allowed a field goal to beat No. 11 Elon 31-3 on Saturday at Rhodes Stadium.

JMU finishes the regular season an unblemished 11-0 overall and 8-0 in CAA play marking the second straight year the Dukes went without a loss in league action. It’s the first time in CAA history a team was went back-to-back years without a loss in conference play.

The Dukes’ perfect regular season also likely secures the top seed for the FCS playoffs, which begin next week. The bracket will be unveiled Sunday.

Schor carried nine times for 76 yards and the three scores. He had a 21-yard scoring run and a 2-yard touchdown keeper in the second quarter. His 2-yard score came with 21 seconds left in the half to give JMU a 17-0 halftime lead.

Elon finishes the regular season 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the league.
