Madison Adds Transfer OL

HARRISONBURG – James Madison has added an offensive lineman to its roster.

JMU coach Mike Houston said South Carolina transfer Pika Leota will join the Dukes and is eligible for the 2017 season. Leota will start practicing with the Dukes on Friday.

Leota spent last season at the University of South Carolina and was added to Georgia State’s roster earlier this summer, but he never practiced with the Panthers or took classes at the school.

A product of Ashville High School, Leota stands 6-foot-5, 285 pounds.

This addition to the roster comes one day after Houston said sophomore right tackle Tyree Chavious would miss the entire season due to an Achilles injury.

Leota is also the second transfer offensive lineman JMU has welcomed to its team in as many days. Maryland transfer EJ Donahue joined the squad Wednesday.
