'Air Raid' Innovator Remains A Candidate For JMU OC

DukesofJMU.com Hal Mumme to James Madison? Not yet.
A source said Saturday that Mumme, who resigned Friday as the head coach at Division III McMurry University (Texas), hasn't accepted JMU's offensive coordinator position, which has been vacant since Jeff Durden was fired in December.
This doesn't mean Mumme, the head coach at Kentucky from 1997-2000, won't be the Dukes' new OC. He is still a strong candidate, and Mumme and JMU coach Mickey Matthews are close friends. They coached together at West Texas State, now West Texas A&M, in the early 1980s.
